Practicum and Internships
As part of their training experience, students enrolled in the Latina/o mental health
training program also engage in direct clinical work with the community. Students
interview at local community-based agencies, clinics, and school-based locations where
they have the opportunity to provide services to underserved Latinx communities. Aliento
has partnered with local agencies that provide our students with opportunities to
engage in clinical work with both bilingual and monolingual Spanish- and English-speaking
Latinx communities. During their clinical work, students will also be supervised by
clinicians who are bilingual Spanish-speaking and who also have knowledge of working
with Latinx communities. It is important that our students receive the support they
need in order to provide culturally and linguistically responsive services to the
community.
