The Riordan Extreme Leadership Program

The Riordan Extreme Leadership Program, led by Dr. Anthony Collatos, assistant professor of education at GSEP, is a partnership between GSEP and Gertz-Ressler High School. Members of the program include students from both schools, and the program is designed to provide urban youth with opportunities to further develop leadership skills.

Last year GSEP students participating in the leadership program partnered with 10th and 11th grade Gertz-Ressler High School students in order to provide the teenagers with peer camaraderie and support as a supplement to individualized adult guidance. The Riordan Extreme Leaders Program students also attended a college fair and college application workshops, visited the campuses of California State University of Dominguez Hills and Pepperdine University, participated in the Fulcrum Adventures ropes course, and volunteered at the United Way HomeWalk.
