LA County DMH Stipend

LA COUNTY DMH STIPEND* APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! GET $18,500 IN ADDITION TO YOUR SALARY!

* Please note that this is a different opportunity than the CA STATE MFT Stipends. You are encouraged to apply for both, but may only be awarded one stipend. Information for the CA State Stipend will become available in the upcoming weeks.

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health has announced that it will be awarding educational stipends to MFT students for 2011-2012. The goal of the LAC DMH Stipend Program is to increase the public mental health workforce with qualified individuals committed to providing services in high priority areas.

Eligible students and graduates will receive an educational stipend of $18,500 if they agree to work at a public mental health agency, either directly operated by or contracted with LA County DMH. Stipend recipients will need to be employed for one year in a full-time position as an MFT Intern in order to be eligible.

DEADLINE TO APPLY TO THE STIPEND:

 October 28th, 2011

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE A GRADUATION DATE BETWEEN:

July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. No exceptions.

HOW TO APPLY:

You must contact Sadaf Mayet, Manager of Career Services if you are interested in applying.  Your name must be on the school’s recommended list to be considered for the LA County DMH Stipend Program.

Please email Sadaf at sadaf.mayet@pepperdine.edu  with your NAME, STUDENT ID#, GRADUATION DATE (EVEN IF ANTICIPATED), AND CAMPUS.
