God's Goodness and Love Will Follow Us Throughout Our Days

On an August afternoon in 2017, I was sitting in an orientation event as a brand new doctoral student. One of the assignments in this orientation for us was to draw a picture of how we envision ourselves in 10 years.

I took the large post-it paper home and started drawing. In the upper part of the paper, I drew valleys in a dark brown color. Then, in the bottom part of the paper, I drew a peaceful lake, and green grasses; my husband and I with three children, all relaxing with big smiles on our faces. After I finished the drawing, I couldn't help but realize that this was an abstract state of joy, love, and peace that I envisioned and perhaps eager for, and it was actually Psalm 23

I was a bit shocked as I did not plan to draw a Bible verse, nor did I even think about it at that moment... but amazingly, God at that moment wanted to assure me of who He is and how our days are taken care of.

So, in this season, I pray that we know and remember that the Lord is our shepherd, and we truly lack nothing, as His goodness and love will follow us throughout our lives. Merry Christmas! In Jesus' name, Amen.
