Biography

Dr. Gregory Dern has served as an adjunct professor of education with the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology since 2001. He teaches courses in environmental and instructional strategies, educational research and assessment, philosophical foundations of education, and mathematics and science instruction for elementary schools. Dern was awarded an appointment to the Panel of Mediators and to the Special Panel of Mediators for the Los Angeles Superior Court specializing in mediating litigated disputes. As an organizational consultant, Dern has worked with public and nonprofit agencies in the areas of dispute resolution, team development, program evaluation, organizational training, research, and grant writing. Dern's research interest includes collaborative processes, social identities, conflict resolution, phenomenological research methods, and teaching strategies for students with autism spectrum disorders.
