On March 9, 2023, the Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) Lifelong Learning Women's Forum assembled at the home of its benefactor Kathy Danhakl (MA '02) to welcome renowned women’s leadership coach, Dr. Heather Backstrom. She delivered the wisdom she calls “Collaborative Confidence,” which is a relevant topic for any and every month but was particularly fitting for Women’s History Month.

Dr. Backstrom, a cultivator of empowered woman leaders, reminded the ladies in attendance that women share a bond that calls us to activate, amplify and accelerate each other.

Dr. Backstrom expounded on the proposition that “I am responsible for my confidence and that of other women. She guided attendees through Strategies to amplify their authentic talents and expertise while simultaneously doing the same for other women. This engaging and interactive session revealed new sights and meaning from Dr. Backstrom’s new book on Collective Confidence.

Founded in 2014, the Lifelong Learning Women's Forum is a private-invitation event that assists women in staying current on events and establishing sound, logical, and innovative positions related to issues that shape our world.
