The Provost’s Office is pleased to announce that Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez, Program Director For the PhD in Global Leadership and Change and Professor in the Education Division at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, is the recipient of the 11th Annual Award for Excellence in Leadership. This award is presented to a woman whose academic leadership has made a significant contribution to her profession. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Schmieder-Ramirez who joins an esteemed group of women faculty that have won this award over the past ten years.

Dr. Schmieder-Ramirez shares, "I am very excited to receive this award, and I am very grateful for all the women who have received this award for the past ten years. I am honored that this award will be added to this list of wonderful women recipients."

The Committee on Women Faculty at Seaver College served as the selection committee for the award. The committee sought nominations of women who have had a faculty role (present or past) at Pepperdine University, have been employed by the University for ten or more years, and are role models for academic leaders. Potential areas of leadership could include but are not limited to: administration at the university, school, and division levels; offices in professional organizations and academic societies; leadership in civic and service organizations; and leadership in the areas of scholarship, teaching, and university service.
