Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez Appointed To The Role Of Interim Associate Dean

Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez, who previously served as the associate dean of education for three years, has been appointed to the role of interim associate dean of the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez has a robust educational background, and in previous career roles, she has served as superintendent of schools. Dr. June has a diverse set of skills as a leader, researcher, and expert in global relations.

After the selection of a permanent dean is completed, Dr. June will have the option to return to her original role as the chairperson of the PhD program. During this period, Dr. Laura Hyatt, will assume her duties as the interim chairperson of the PhD program in addition to serving as the chairperson of the EdD Organizational Leadership program. Finally, Dr. Hyatt will help support the EdD in Learning Technologies program as Dr. Jennifer Miyake-Trapp leaves that role to continue to lead the MS programs and expand the functions of the Virtual Initiatives Team.

GSEP is delighted to welcome Dr. June Schmieder-Ramirez into her new role and grateful to Dr. Hyatt for taking on additional responsibilities in the doctoral programs.
