GSEP Faculty and Alumni Featured in Psychology Today - 9 Things Gen Z Employees Want Post-Pandemic

We are pleased to spotlight Dr. DellaNeve and Dr. Nishizaki’s research, two of our Adjunct Faculty and EDOL alumni, on Gen Z and how leaders of all generations can most effectively recruit, retain, and lead this group in a post-pandemic workplace environment. New research provides critical data for transgenerational collaboration, and Nishizaki and DellaNeve’s research highlights actionable points to inform the evolving 21st-century work environment.

  • COVID has accelerated emerging trends in Gen Z employment considerations.
  • Gen Zers may appear paradoxical, wanting both higher support and more flexibility.
  • In-person work environments are desirable at times, especially during onboarding and meaningful conversation, but at other times are unwanted.
  • Investing more resources upfront is likely to set the right tone with Gen Z staff.

Dr. DellaNeve and Dr. Nishizaki have also written a book, “Working with Gen Z: A Handbook to Recruit, Retain, and Reimagine the Future Workforce after COVID-19,” coming soon.
