Tuition, Fees, and Costs
Tuition charges (per academic year) plus the living expense budget constitute a student's Cost of Attendance. Tuition rates are based on a per-unit pricing structure, varying with your specific program. All tuition rates are subject to an annual increase of 4-6% as determined by Pepperdine University's Board of Regents. A student's total financial aid awarded may not exceed a student's Cost of Attendance.

Tuition Charges
Wellness Fee
As part of the University’s efforts to provide more holistic care for Pepperdine students, the Student Affairs Office will begin offering significantly expanded mental health, physical health, and fitness programs beginning in Fall 2022. To support this initiative, the University will introduce a mandatory Wellness Fee for all Pepperdine students.
The Wellness Fee charges students can expect to see will vary depending on their enrollment status and whether their classes are primarily in Malibu, on another campus, or online. We recognize that some services will likely only be accessed by Malibu students, so students enrolled at other campuses or online will pay a reduced rate. However, due to significantly expanded wellness offerings, all students will have numerous services and programs available to them.
Health Insurance
GSEP requires that F1 international students purchase the University's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). In addition, students registered in the TESOL program or the Malibu Clinical Psychology program must either provide proof of a US-based health insurance plan or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). 2024-2025 Cost of Attendance
The Cost of Attendance includes tuition and fee costs and an estimated budget for living expenses, books and supply costs, and transportation. The Cost of Attendance is set for all students each year, and actual costs may vary, depending on the student's lifestyle.
A student's total financial aid awards cannot exceed the Cost of Attendance (estimated costs for the academic year). For example, a student with annual tuition and fees of $10,000 and a living expense budget of $51,710 will have a total Cost of Attendance of $61,710. In this example, the student's total financial aid awards, including Stafford Loans, and other financial aid (such as grants), cannot exceed the total of $61,710.
International students will be required to provide financial documentation for to the Office of International Student Services (OISS) demonstrating their ability to fully fund the cost of attendance for the first 12 months of the academic program of study. These costs include tuition, living costs (housing and food), and other costs (books, supplies, transportation, personal expenses, the University wellness fee, and health insurance) for the first full year of your academic program. Because the University does not offer federal financial aid for international students, nor does it have emergency or other funding available after enrollment, students should ensure they can fund the entirety of their education and living expenses.

The GSEP Financial Aid Office may consider increasing your Cost of Attendance (COA) only for expenses noted below:
- Computer Purchase (Once/academic program)
- Books exceeding the amount included in the student budget
- Child care
- Disability
- Course-Related Travel
- Course-Related Trip
These budget increases are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to Federal and Pepperdine University policies. Additional financial aid in the form of institutional grants or scholarships will not be provided to meet approved additional expenses. If approved, the increase in your COA will be funded by additional Federal Direct or private loans.
