Biography

Dr. Jessica Williamson is a Staff Psychologist at the Department of State Hospitals-Patton (DSH-Patton), where she works with long-term PC 1026, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), and PC 2962, Offenders with a Mental Health Disorder (OMHD) males to learn skills to effectively reintegrate into society after committing serious offenses. In addition to her present employment at DSH-Patton, she has had the opportunity to teach online courses at Mount Saint Mary’s University.

In her academic career, Dr. Williamson completed an APA-accredited internship at DSH-Metropolitan, where she provided admissions psychological assessments, comprehensive personality and violence risk assessments, and individual and group therapy. Additionally, she has also trained in multiple inpatient and correctional settings including, DSH-Patton, Ventura Youth Correctional Facility, Southern California Trauma Center, Exodus Recovery Center Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), and completed research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her current interests include forensic assessments, severe psychopathology, and humanistic-existential therapy.
