Jaclyn Friedenthal, Psy.D.

Biography

Dr. Jaclyn Friedenthal is excited to join the Pepperdine University faculty. She earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology/Stanford University Psy.D. Consortium in Palo Alto, California. Her dissertation, for which she was given the Dissertation Distinction in Research Methods and Cultural Competency Award, was titled Emotion Regulation as a Mediator Between Childhood Maltreatment and Physiological Stress Response Among African American Young Adult Women. Friedenthal completed her predoctoral internship at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center, where she provided individual and group therapy as well as psychodiagnostic assessments to individuals of all ages. She completed her postdoctoral residency at VA Loma Linda Healthcare System.

Friedenthal has a range of clinical experience, with specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She currently provides individual psychotherapy to women at Thrive Psychology Group in Los Angeles.
