Social Enterprise Collective 2024: Connecting Changemakers, Sparking Cross-Sector Impact

The Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) MA in Social Entrepreneurship and Change program, in collaboration with the School of Public Policy, will host the Social Enterprise Collective in Los Angeles on December 5, 2024. This annual event brings together entrepreneurs, impact professionals, nonprofit executives, and government officials to drive innovation and collaboration across sectors. With the theme “Connecting Changemakers, Sparking Cross-Sector Impact,” the gathering highlights the power of collective action in shaping a more equitable and sustainable future.

Held at Joyce LA, this dynamic event will feature insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and a keynote fireside chat led by former Compton Mayor Aja Brown. For Pepperdine students, this event offers an invaluable opportunity to engage in cross-sector dialogues, connect with leading voices in social impact, and gain inspiration to fuel their own journeys as changemakers.

Event Agenda Highlights

• Networking Opportunities - The event opens with a networking session, encouraging meaningful connections among attendees and speakers.
• Interactive Q&A Panels* - Two engaging panels will explore innovative approaches to impact:
  • Fundraising, Impact Investing, and Scaling Social Ventures: Facilitated by Ryan Lynn Johnson, Jeff Fouchey and Jesse Draper will offer advice on securing funding, growing ventures, and sustaining long-term impact.
  • Stories that Connect: Cause Marketing and Cross-Sector Partnerships for Lasting Social Change: Marketing experts Lauren Triplett, Veronica Escalante, and Rick Cole will discuss crafting compelling narratives and building partnerships that resonate across industries.
• Keynote Fireside Chat with Aja Brown - Aja Brown, known for her transformative leadership in Compton, will discuss her approach to social change through collaborative efforts and strategic planning. This 45-minute keynote session will close with a Q&A, providing attendees the chance to gain valuable insights on leadership and impact.
