GSEP Celebrates Step Forward Day 2021
For Step Forward Day, Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) will support the organization Hope Gardens Family Center located in Sylmar, CA. This organization helps women transition from homelessness to independence within 12 to 36 months by offering long-term rehabilitation programs, services, and spiritual care.
Women and children have a safe place to live while they receive counseling, training, encouragement, and the real help they need to escape homelessness forever. Hope Gardens houses on average 75-80 families with 120-130 children, in addition to senior women who live in their Sequoia Lodge, which serves as permanent supportive housing for them.
Due to COVID, instead of physically going to the facility to volunteer, we have decided to start a registry at Walmart and Amazon, so the Pepperdine community can select items on the registry that the residents of Hope Gardens need. We thank you for your help. If you have any questions, please contact our office at gsepalum@pepperdine.edu or 310.568.5649.
