Biography

Coughlin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Laguna Hills where she works with children, adolescents and adults on a variety of clinical issues. As a consultant for Trauma Recovery Services, Inc., she provides on-site debriefings and interventions throughout Southern California for the employees of companies involved in traumatic workplace incidents. Prior to teaching at the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, she taught review courses for the Marriage and Family Therapy Licensing Exams through Gerry Grossman Seminars in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Coughlin's areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, personal growth and spirituality. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and families going through transitions such as marriage, separation, divorce, parenting/step-parenting, grief and loss, retirement and caring for aging parents.
