
Gabriella Miramontes
Biography
Gabriella Miramontes is a dedicated human capacity developer, leadership strategist, change management professional, and organizational development consultant with more than 25 years of experience across the nonprofit, education consulting, and corporate leadership sectors. Her work has focused on helping organizations navigate growth, transformation, and operational change through strategic leadership, organizational effectiveness, and people centered innovation. Throughout her career, she has led complex, high stakes initiatives involving cross functional collaboration, portfolio and project management, leadership advisement, stakeholder engagement, assessment implementation, and workforce development. Miramontes is particularly recognized for her ability to build leadership capacity, strengthen organizational culture, facilitate strategic planning processes, and guide teams through sustainable change initiatives that align mission, vision, and operational goals. Her expertise spans leadership development, strategic execution, organizational change, training and facilitation, diversity and inclusion strategy, and partnership cultivation across nonprofit organizations, consulting environments, and large-scale educational systems.
Miramontes has been affiliated with Pepperdine University for more than two decades as both an alumna and educator. She earned degrees from the Graziadio Business School and the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, completing her EdD in Organizational Leadership with a focus on leadership, equity, and transformative practice. After serving in multiple academic and leadership roles, she transitioned to full time faculty in 2020 and currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Her teaching and research interests include leadership, change management, mentoring, training and development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with particular emphasis on empowering women of color and elevating underrepresented voices in leadership.
In addition to teaching courses in Leadership, Change Management, Research, DE&I, and Comprehensive Exams, Miramontes serves as one of the founding members and the Director of the Excellence and Innovation Project and as Director of the Center for Global Partnerships and Learning. She also serves as Editor in Chief of the Scholarship Without Borders Journal at GSEP, Chair of the Pepperdine Excellence Postdoctoral Project in Research (PEPPR Postdoc), and leads GSEP’s belonging initiatives focused on cultivating inclusive and community centered learning environments. Throughout her academic career, she has chaired and co-chaired over 160 doctoral dissertations and graduating students, mentoring scholar practitioners across diverse fields and supporting the development of transformative, practice driven research. In addition, she is the host of the podcast Elevating Voices in Leadership, a platform dedicated to amplifying diverse perspectives and highlighting leaders who create meaningful and inclusive change within their communities and organizations.
Driven by her personal credo, “Empower growth, inspire leadership, elevate voices,” Miramontes believes leadership is an act of elevation: of self, of others, and of purpose. Her work centers on helping emerging and established leaders recognize their voices as instruments of influence, transformation, and service. Whether through teaching, mentoring, research, or community engagement, she remains committed to fostering authentic leadership grounded in empathy, courage, inclusivity, and lifelong learning.
