Dustine Rey

Biography

Dr. Dustine Rey is the founder and Executive Director of The Gratitude Garden Preschool and co-founder of Satya Kids Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Her school is committed to nurturing curiosity and creativity through balancing innovative STEM curricula, emotional well-being, artistic expression, and  entrepreneurship. She attributes becoming an entrepreneur to her own search for a well-rounded education for her daughter. Dr. Rey is working on her newest start-up, Confetti Publishing. Confetti books are aimed toward children, and written by children and teachers with positive and uplifting messages. 

Dr. Rey holds thirty years of experience; including teaching in The Long Beach Unified School District, school counseling, and private practice for marriage and family therapy and personal development coaching. 

Dr. Rey has been teaching part-time in The Graduate School of Education and Psychology since 2011. She holds a Doctorate of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Southern California where she completed a higher education teaching fellowship in the Rossier School of Education. She earned her Master of Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology from San Jose State University, a California Teaching Credential, and a California Child Development Program Director Permit. She presents at various conferences and workshops on the topics of emotional well-being, human development, positive psychology, and educational leadership.
