Dr. Cara Garcia teaches in the master of arts in education program at GSEP. She came to Pepperdine University from the Los Angeles Unified School District where she was a teacher and teacher-advisor. She teaches methods courses, chairs dissertations, and supervises educational therapy services offered through the clinic.

The Culture and Trauma Research Lab conducts research on the cultural context of traumas such as partner abuse, human trafficking, genocide, and racism, and the role of spirituality in the recovery process.
