Biography

Dr. Connelly is an Adjunct Professor in the Pepperdine Online Psychology program and a licensed Psychotherapist located in West Los Angeles. She worked for more than 20 years as a Research Scientist/Neurobiologist and Professor teaching Neurobiology and Medical Physiology Courses to graduate and medical students at UC Davis, UCLA, and other institutions outside of California before obtaining graduate education and training in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University.

Therapeutic perspectives and interventions used in her private practice are based upon evidence-based psychological constructs and integration of the underlying biological/ neurobiological processes that impact personality development, emotional and behavioral responses to distress and other factors that can affect feelings of well-being, satisfaction with one’s life and relationships with others. 

She has worked in community mental health settings with socioeconomically and ethnically diverse populations from varied locales around Los Angeles, including counseling adolescent students (age 11-19) and their families at Culver City middle and high schools.
