Creating a Placement File

What is a Placement File?                                                                                    The Placement File is a collection of documents pertaining to professional training and education. Placement Files consist of school transcripts, teaching evaluations, professional letters of recommendation, credentialing documents, a cover letter, and résumé.

Placement files are sent to prospective employers for teaching positions and other career opportunities in the education field. Many school districts require that the official Placement File be sent from the prospective employee's college at the time of application for a position.

Placement File Status Form
Defines a file as "Confidential" or "Open". (In an "Open" file, you will have access to your letters of recommendation. In a "Confidential" file, you may not. A confidential file is considered more heavily weighted because you have waived your right to access your recommendations.)
