Biography

Before coming to the United States, Mitrushina studied musicology at the Leningrad Conservatory of Music and Psychology at Leningrad University (in the former Soviet Union). She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California , Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute, holds a clinical faculty position there, and has a full-time appointment at California State University, Northridge. As an American Board of Professional Psychology diplomate in clinical psychology, Mitrushina has been involved in research on the cognitive correlates of normal aging and the dementias of different etiologies, publishing more than 50 articles in these areas. She also maintains a clinical and forensic private practice in neuropsychology.
