Gregory Canillas

Biography

Dr. Gregory Canillas previously served as program director at PROTOTYPES- ICAN in Pasadena, California. In this role, he oversaw the child and adult therapy programs the CALWORKS mental health and the Homeless CALWORKS Families Project. Canillas is also an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Marymount University and National University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate level psychology courses. Previously, Canillas was a clinical psychologist with Roybal Family Mental Health, which is a clinic directly operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health in East Los Angeles. Canillas has worked in a variety of capacities with adults, college students, as well as with children, adolescents and families involved in the foster care system, including as a children's social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services, and later as the clinical director of a family preservation program. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz and his graduate training in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. Canillas has also taught at Antioch University, Los Angeles and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
