Campus/Format: WLA Graduate Campus/MAE, Teacher Preparation in Multiple Subject

What were you doing before coming to Pepperdine GSEP?

I was working at an advertisement agency as a Media Buyer. I did not find any relevant meaning in my days and decided to make the switch to a career I felt truly passionate about.

What are your career goals post-GSEP?

I would like to attain a job as a full-time Elementary school teacher in a public school. I plan on being a teacher for at least five years, and then possibly moving into an administrative position

What are you doing with your GSEP degree?

I am using it to obtain a full-time teacher position. Also, I feel that with my GSEP masters degree, I have a better understanding of children's development and can cater to their academic, social, and emotional needs more. I have also learned how to do action research and plan on implementing some research into my classroom and school.

Why did you choose to come to Pepperdine GSEP?

I chose Pepperdine because it offered students to obtain a Masters and Teacher Credential in 11 months. The program is also designed to get the students into the classroom asap and begin their clinical experiences, therefore, it is very hands-on and beneficial. The school is also well recognized and acknowledged on a national level, thus giving its alumni a leverage when hoping to obtain a job. Lastly, the way the program is scheduled is very challenging but is attainable. It's organized well and gives students enough time in the classroom, at the school placements, and alone time to study and do our work. The program is challenging, but manageable.
