Women's Lifelong Lecture Series


Designed for an elite group of women, the purpose of this series of presentations is to assist women in staying abreast of current events and establishing sound, logical, and innovative positions related to issues that shape our world and finding solutions to the complex questions of the day.

Participation in this three-week program is by invitation only.  The group meets once a month during the fall and spring semesters for seminar presentations.  Each seminar will focus on one topic, with the majority of sessions being presented by Pepperdine University faculty.

The seminar will consist of a one-hour lecture, followed by a thirty-minute “questions and answers” portion. The seminars will be held at a private residence in Pacific Palisades and are preceded by a continental breakfast.  The following presentations have already taken place and can be viewed online:

Affordable Care Act by Minda Wilson

 

Ms. Wilson hold a Juris Doctor from U.C.L.A., an M.B.A. from N.Y.U., and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from U.C.L.A. Shewas the founder and CEO of On-Site Health Management Services, Inc., a vaccination services company providing wellness services to their corporate clients. Established in 2004, she grew this business from startup to become the 5th largest private provider of flu shots in the state of California. In December 2012, this business was sold to a private company. Ms. Wilson continues to advise clients on legal matters and works with businesses to improve business performance. Most recently, she is involved in assisting several companies, including XovoxMedia, a technology startup in the payment facilitation filed. She is extremely proud of the recent launch of the Affordable Healthcare Review, an organization providing free services designed to educate businesses and individuals about how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will impact their lives. Minda Wilson is the founder and president of Wilson and Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in offering litigation support, advising financially distressed companies and parties involved in commercial real estate ventures. For twenty years she has worked with companies in the areas of productivity improvement, crisis management, corporate organization and structure, computerized systems development and implementation, credit and accounting control, business and financial planning, asset management, portfolio analysis, valuation and fraud detection, property development and disposition activities. She held many impressive positions including Vice President and manager of the New York office of the brokerage firm Anglo American Financial. She was in charge of all trading, operations, marketing, and financial reporting for the parent, and its' subsidiaries, including their FCM and NASD member affiliates. At Chase Manhattan Bank including managing the world-wide computer operations supporting the bank's real estate sector and was the first person in 8 years chosen from their operations side to attend the prestigious Chase Manhattan Bank Credit Training Program.
Minda Wilson, a leading expert and advisor on the Affordable Care Act to lead a conversation on "Obamacare- Great intent; Bad implementation." Minda is an attorney by training and was the owner of a healthcare business when legislation passed. She founded the Affordable Healthcare Review to educate Americans by presenting an unbiased consumer-based balanced point of view.
