EDTC 612 Advanced Study of Health Education (3)
Students develop a comprehensive understanding of how to support students’ physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. Candidates learn how to promote personal classroom and school safety through prevention and intervention strategies. Candidates study the relationship between student health and student learning and how to access local and community resources to support both. Candidates implement the appropriate elements of the adopted health curriculum and instructional materials for the teaching assignment and study major state and federal laws related to student health and safety, including reporting requirements and parents’ rights. A teaching position in a K-12 classroom is desired for participants in this class.
