Mental Health Loan Assumption Program (MHLAP)
An award recipient may receive up to $10,000 to repay educational loans in exchange for a 12-month service obligation in a hard-to-fill or retain position within the County Public Mental Health System. Must have a BBS intern number or be licensed.

LA County Stipend
The goal of the LAC DMH Stipend Program is to increase the public mental health workforce with qualified individuals committed to providing services in high priority areas.
Eligible students and graduates will receive an educational stipend of $18,500 if they agree to work at a public mental health agency, either directly operated by or contracted with LA County DMH. Stipend recipients will need to be employed for one year in a full-time position as an MFT Intern in order to be eligible.
CA State Stipend
The goal of the state’s MFT stipend program is to increase its workforce with MFT interns who can provide services where they most need clinicians, in underserved communities.
The stipends will result in you receiving $18,500 in addition to your salary; if you agree to work at a mental health service agency operated by the state, a county, or an agency contracted by a governmental entity to provide mental health care. Stipend recipients will need to be employed or volunteer for one year (in a full-time position) as a registered MFT Intern in an approved agency by the MFT Consortium.
