Student Employment/Assistantships

Thank you for your interest in an assistantship position. An application can be downloaded (see below under "Applications") or students may call (310) 568-2375 to request one by mail.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the positions currently offered, you need to be registered as a full-time student in programs offered by Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology. An individual registered for at least 6 units per trimester is considered a full-time student.

Hours and Pay

Students may work up to 19.75 combined hours per week in any of the three assistantship positions. Students may not work more than 8 hours in one day. Students are paid on a bi-weekly basis. The hourly wage is $11.62 for master's level and $12.68 for doctoral level.

Begnning in Fall 2007, the hourly wage is $12.20 for master's level and $13.30 for doctoral level.

Positions

Graduate Assistantships (GA's) - Students assist faculty and staff with clerical and administrative duties related to financial aid, human resources, marketing, professional development, special events, technology, and other areas.

Research Assistantships (RA's) - Students assist faculty members by compiling and summarizing articles; participating in the preparation of presentations; and/or collecting, scoring, and analyzing data. Interested students may contact faculty members directly. (Faculty research interests are listed in the back of the school catalog.)

Teaching Assistantships (TA's) - Students assist faculty members with tutoring students, arranging for guest speakers, class presentations, and other instructional activities. Interested students may contact faculty members directly. (Faculty teaching interests are listed in the back of the school catalog.)
