Master of Arts in Psychology Outreach (M.A.P. Outreach)

M.A.P. Outreach is a student organization at the Irvine campus dedicated to fostering identity development among M.A. students at Pepperdine University. M.A.P. Outreach was developed to create a unique culture for Master of Arts students by facilitating events for students to utilize one another as resources and support systems while in school. Workshops are focused on specific topics relating to Master of Arts students and include: personal, professional and educational development. M.A.P. Outreach is a student-driven club that was created by M.A. students for M.A. students.

Student Perspective of PsyD and PhD Experience

Summary: Doctoral students at Pepperdine in the program will discuss their experiences thus far. Some of the topics that will be covered include: Working while going to school, different year experiences, academic workload in the program, common fears or concerns throughout the process, strain on personal life, and anything else attendees are curious about.

Refreshments will be provided at both locations.

Where: Irvine Graduate Campus, Room 233   and

           **Streaming live to Wes LA Graduate Campus Room 332**

When: October 14th, 2011, 7:00pm - 9:00pm

 

Past Workshops:

Marketing your M.A. in Psychology after Graduation.

Summary:   Sadaf Mayet will be presenting the different opportunities available for individuals who graduate from Pepperdine with an M.A. in Psychology. Specific topics covered will include different job opportunities available with this degree as well as common fears and concerns many graduates have with the M.A after graduation.  

When:   January 31st, 2010

Where: Irvine Graduate Campus, Room 235, 7-9pm

Who:    Any & all M.A.P students
What:   A social networking event
When:   Wednesday, March 23rd 7:15pm – 9p.m.
Where:  El Torito Grill (located at 1910 Main Street, Irvine 92614, right down the street from Pepperdine)
Why:    Because this is a great opportunity to meet other people in your program and make some great social connections as well.  Whether this is your first semester or you are graduating in May, come by and get to know some of those friendly faces you keep seeing in the halls.
