Faculty Scholarly Activity

Scholarly activities at Pepperdine GSEP are based upon a framework proposed by Boyer (1990), which expands the traditional view of academic excellence to focus on four aspects of scholarship: discovery, teaching, application, and integration. This broadened definition is consistent with the primary mission of GSEP, which is to prepare professionals for ethical service and leadership roles in education, psychology, and related areas.

Faculty scholarly activity involves originality, creativity, collaboration, a thorough grounding in previous scholarship, and effective communication of contributions through teaching, practice, presentations, and publications.
