Graduate Programs in Psychology

Pepperdine Applied Research Center

The Pepperdine Applied Research Center (PARC) is a collaborative scholarship endeavor at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Broadly speaking, its goal is to bridge the gap between psychotherapy practice and research.

PARC endeavors to achieve its goal by:

  • Developing and maintaining an infrastructure for research at our GSEP community clinics and counseling centers located at our Encino, Irvine, and West Los Angeles campuses
  • Gathering data on specific clinical issues and decisions facing graduate student therapists, their supervisors and clients in order to address gaps in the current research base
  • Promoting collaboration with faculty and students in scholarship, based on the clinic-wide confidential research database, through the work of key topic areas/centers
  • Bringing state of the art evidence-based assessment and practice into our GSEP clinics and counseling centers
  • Expanding learning experiences for students by providing training and hands-on experiences with research-practice integration
  • Providing a forum for quality improvement of services to students and clients
  • Sharing research findings with professionals and the public to inform community practices
