PRYDE - Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

What happens when we participate in PRYDE?

Once we have received a referral by phone or by fax we will initiate services by contacting the youth's family by phone or mail to schedule an intake. The intake is an assessment process that takes between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. The youth and at least one legal parent or guardian must attend. The program requirements will be established at that time. Individual and family counseling, drug and alcohol classes, essays and community service are just some of the requirements that are commonly established.

What happens if we decide not to participate in PRYDE?

We will notify the original referral source of your decision not to participate. They will decide what action will be taken as a result. Please contact the original referral source for more information

Can I schedule my intake for evening or weekends?

No. We reserve the evening hours (when available) for counseling appointments and must conduct intakes during normal business hours Monday through Friday. While we understand this is inconvenient for many parents, the intake is a one time only meeting. Almost all other classes and meetings are held in the late afternoons, evenings or weekends.

How long do I have to complete the program?

During the intake assessment, the exact requirements will be established and a deadline will be set for completion. The timeframe for completion varies but we normally expect the youth to complete all requirements within 3-4 months.

Where do I send completed assignments, certificates, and community service forms?

All materials should be copied and only the copies should be mailed or hand delivered to your diversion specialist at the following address:
