GSEP Students Awarded CPsquare Award for Community Development through Action Research

Christian Borja and Noah Sparks (MALT) have been awarded the CPsquare Award for Community Development through Action Research.

This award is given to recognize skill and excellence in leveraging technology to support the formation, growth, and development of a community of practice through action research. This award includes a membership in the CPsquare community and an invitation to present their work in the CPsquare Research and Dissertation series during the 2011-2012 year.  Christian and Noah will be invited to present their work in an upcoming session in CPSquare's "research and dissertation series."

CPsquare is a globally distributed community of people who have gathered to share knowledge and build a practice around our passion for and belief in the potential of communities of practice as a vehicle for positive organizational and world change. Over the past ten years, members of CPsquare have come from corporations, professional associations, churches, private, non-profit, educational and academic organizations as well as individuals who work with communities of practice as either consultants, as leaders or as members. We have a series of organized events each year, as well as monthly meetings and ad-hoc sessions, both synchronous and asynchronous.

GSEP established the "Urban Initiative" to develop a national model for preparing education and mental health professionals for long-term work in culturally diverse and underserved urban communities.
