Robert Martellacci, alumnus of the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) Online Master of Arts in Educational Technology (OMET) program, has been inspiring those in education and industry to embrace 21st century technological learning via his role as president and publisher of MindShare Learning and the MindShare Learning Report. MindShare Learning Report, Canada's premier education technology eMagazine, recently celebrated its first anniversary, and to coincide with that event Martellacci is launching a chief information officer (CIO) virtual webinar series. In addition, he will launch the first national MindShare Learning Educational Technology Industry Leadership Summit at York University later this year.
Martellacci also works with a superintendent and principal in one of the most underserved school districts in Toronto, Canada. He hopes that by infusing technology into the schools' curriculum he can eventually provide students with more opportunities for success in the increasingly dynamic workplace. "I came from humble beginnings and feel compelled to give back to a community that furthered my personal development," Martellacci said.
As if that wasn't enough, Martellacci is on the board of the Canadian eLearning Alliance and the Institute for Technology Enhanced Learning at York University, and is leading the development of the first virtual OMET alumni chapter for GSEP. The chapter held its first online meeting in January at the Florida Education Technology Conference.
In the next few years, Martellacci hopes to expand MindShare Learning into a fully integrated educational technology marketing firm offering end-to-end solutions such as an eMagazine, a national conference, and strategic marketing services. In the meantime, he is writing a book on educational technology leadership in order to share his ideas on best practices with the public.
