GSEP supports a rich academic environment and commitment to community service, which is exemplified in many ways. Our annual report, published each September, contains a summary of accomplishments, developments, measurements, and reflections from the prior academic year.
The Urban Initiative is an umbrella program developed by GSEP to prepare education and mental health professionals for long term work in culturally diverse, urban, and underserved communities.
GSEP offers both master's and doctoral programs across its five graduate campus locations throughout Southern California and online. Programs are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and American Psychological Association.
Mara Leigh Taylor (MA '03, MA '06) founded Getting Out By Going In after more than five years of volunteer work inside prisons, teaching more than 600 inmates tools for rapid and lasting changes, and recently authored a book titled Women in Prison: Women Finding Freedom.
