Effective fall 2012, the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) will require a minimum of 60 academic units for the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology degree to qualify for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Therefore, the minimum number of units for the program will increase from the current 48 units to 60 units. The revised program will meet the academic requirements for both the Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California. Students entering the program prior to the fall of 2012 will be subject to the previous requirement of 48 units.
The proposed revision will involve all of the current core courses (listed on Page 5 of the program brochure), PLUS the following 12 units of proposed additions/modifications:
If you have any questions regarding these tentative course additions/modifications, please contact psychology admissions at (800) 888-4849 or (310) 568-5777.
Many programs offer rolling admission, and students can enter in the fall, spring, and summer sessions.
