California Psychological Association Fiesta Dinner
The Graduate School of Education and Psychology recognized its own, Dr. Miguel Gallardo, for his recent appointment as President of the CPA. In his honor, the Alumni Office hosted a dessert reception in the Presidential Suite at the Disneyland Hotel. Nearly 100 alumni, students, faculty and distinguished guests joined us for this event.
April 2008: California Psychological Association Dinner
Pepperdine alumni, students, faculty and friends joined members of the CPA at the annual membership dinner held in conjunction with the 2008 CPA Conference at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA.
March 2008: CABE Alumni and Student Reception
Pepperdine honored Hannah H. Limb ‘03 for her work in bilingual education at the Pepperdine California Association for Bilingual Educators (CABE) Reception at the 2008 CABE Conference in San Jose. Alumni, Students, members of the Pepperdine CABE Chapter, and the President of CABE attended this successful 1st annual reception.
March 2008: Career Fair "Stress-Free Zone":
During the GSEP Career Fairs the Alumni Office hosts a "Stress-free Zone" to provide a tranquil setting where alumni and students can complete job applications, review paperwork, and recharge.
March 2008: Introduction to Grant Writing Workshop:
The Pepperdine University Office of Corporations, Foundations and Sponsored Programs presented an "Introduction to Grants" workshop to a sold-out audience at our West Los Angeles Graduate Campus on two dates in February and March. Topics included: where to find funders, different types of funders, grant writing basics, time management and deadlines, and pitfalls and best practices.

February 2008: Best of Pepperdine Homecoming Lecture
On Saturday, February 16, 2008 Dr. Edward Shafranske spoke at the Pepperdine University Homecoming 2008 Best of Pepperdine Lecture Series. His topic was "Religion and Spirituality: No Longer Forgotten Factors in Health and Psychology", and it explored the changing role religion and spirituality are playing in the Health and Psychology professions. This was GSEP's first participation in the University's Homecoming festivities.
